Deliverance from the occult In 20 Steps

      1. Number one:  Practical help is available for you now.  You may be seeking real useful immediate aid right now for deliverance from oppressive occult powers which are harassing you.  We have made that available in a video if you haven’t viewed it yet go to the link on line four (A) and watch the video: Trip into the Supernatural that has freed so many people from dark forces. To receive deliverance from the occult one must exercise faith in the highest power and authority in the universe.  That power is Christ whom demons and spiritual powers are also in total subjection to. The Creator (Jesus Christ) is the only power that can free from demonic impression, voices, occult powers, demon harassment, spiritual societies, possession and every evil thing.  It is by the blood shed on Calvary for you that Jesus has the right to deliver from Satan’s bondage.  That purchase is the legal right for God to execute power in your behalf.  The death of God’s son to pay for your life ( your life’s fault, failure, short coming, mistakes, sin) is His commitment to you, which is God’s covenant agreement with you sealed by His own blood.
      2. Number two: Believing what God has done at Calvary’s cross, trusting in the bible promises gives Him the right to reward your faith and trust with the protection of Heavenly Angels who excel in power and from the commander of Heaven you will receive the Holy Spirit’s presence in your life which guards (protects) from evil spirits and from whom demons flee from.  We are promised as the next bible scripture says that Satan will flee from the agencies of the Holy Spirit and Heavenly angels.  “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. James 4:7 ” Devils must flee from the authority of God they have no power to resist His commands.
      3. Number three: As you begin to exercise faith in the power of God you may be doubting, you may recognize your lack of faith but if you exercise what you have even with a sincere earnest three word cry of “Jesus help me” it will be sufficient for God to begin working in you in His own strength.  It’s not magic, but it brings to you the presence of God to work things out for you according to your belief. The bible records statements made such as these when a doubting father brought his son to Jesus to have Christ cast out a demon from him.  ” And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief. Mark 9:24″.  That was enough immediately Jesus cast out the devil and said, “Thou dumb and deaf spirit, I charge thee, come out of him, and enter no more into him. Mark 9:25”.  The bible explains God working in you this way, “work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.  For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure. Philippians 4:12-13 “.  Jesus said faith like the grain of a mustard seed (one of the smallest seeds in nature that lays hold of the life giving properties in sun, rain, and ground that grows until it becomes a large tree).  [If you are wanting and seeking faith so that you may believe, and not be afraid then please listen to “The touch of faith” or read “The Touch of Faith” here.
      4. Number Four (A):  Watch the movie at the home page Trip Into The Supernatural to see a true testimony of a man who was totally freed from demons, and the occult.  It is a first hand powerful testimony by a man who left the occult, turned his back on an elite group of demon worshipers and by the power of the Living God was enabled to live to a ripe old age without harm. This movie is a great factual testimony of the escape from spiritualism and demonology.  According to Wikipedia the definition of demonology: “Demonology is the study of demons or beliefs about demons, especially the methods used to summon and control them.”  But it is a false definition because you can’t control a supernatural force that is stronger than you they will dominant humans unless people connect themselves with a force stronger than the demons.  That force is Jesus.
      1. Number Four(B):  No worldly techniques can help you such as so called deliverance ministries from fallen churches, worldly church techniques, modern distorted prosperity pastors, psychology, hypnosis, mediation these are avenues back to spiritualism themselves that form a stronger bond of power against you, you must begin to exercise faith (which is trust) in your Creator.  God is your Creator and as His creation you belong to Him.  He is responsible for your well being as Creator, and redeemer therefore you are His even if you don’t know it and He desires you.  You are His possession by creation not the devils.  You are God’s first by Creation and second by redemption.
      1. Redemption is the payment made for your life by the life of Jesus Christ which He lived out perfectly on earth so that the Creator might give you the perfect righteous life of Jesus in the stead of your sinful live.  Then by the blood He shed for you when He died on Calvary’s cross is the payment for the sins and mistakes of your life.  You need to know  “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”  Romans 6:23.  The verse reveals that although the penalty for sin is death, God the Father has provided a free gift of eternal life reserved for you in the life of His Son Jesus Christ.  This eternal life is your inheritance and it is truly yours; don’t let anyone steal it from you.  When you come to Christ the Father forgives you of your past life and accepts you with the perfect acceptance of His own Son Jesus for the life of Jesus was perfect.
      1. ” Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth: 1Pe_2:22″.
      1. When you stand by faith in Christ you stand hidden in the perfect character of Christ and it is this perfect righteousness which is absolute authority before the throne of God to present your case before the Father and answer your cry for aid. “And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth.  Rev. 5:6”.  This verse is a picture of Christ as the Lamb of God the prefect offering and sacrifice for your life officiating as a priest and intercessor before the Almighty God and Father to meet your needs.  The seven horns are a symbol of the complete power of God and the seven eyes are a symbol of His omnipresence (By the Holy Spirit the presence of Christ is everywhere at the same time to aid all people).
      1. Which is why when you talk of these things the bible records “… the devils also believe, and tremble  James 2:19”  they know how serious the worthiness, and authority of a risen from the dead Christ on the throne of God is and they will flee if you trust and “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.  James 4:7”.  This works, and it will work for anyone who will exercise faith which is why the apostle Paul who was a former murderer, and blasphemer said, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth…. Rom 1:16.”  Be shy, no way, be ashamed, never, ”   “… It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us. Rom 8:34 “.  “He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? Rom_8:32  “.  How can I not live to honor He who gave His own Son for me and allowed Him to suffer and die for me and now freely gives me all things?
      1. “What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?
Romans 8:32  He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?
Rom 8:33  Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God’s elect? It is God that justifieth.
Rom 8:34  Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.
Rom 8:35  Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
Rom 8:36  As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.
Rom 8:37  Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
Rom 8:38  For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
Rom 8:39  Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
    1.   I would begin by daily  reading the book (Desire of Ages) so that you can exercise faith in Jesus.  It is the book I use every day and has always imparted to me faith and trust in God as I read it.
    1.   Number Four (C):   Faith is the key in the hand to unlock Heaven’s storehouse of power to give you everything you need for victory over Satan and fallen angels.  Most people who have been in the occult are initially prone to doubt, or disbelief and crave faith.  They truly want to believe and are often harassed by wicked spirits to cause them to doubt God.  This is where daily, hourly, and even by the minute reading of God’s promises, and exercising trust in His word and Holy Character will bring rest, peace, and freedom in the life.  Steps to Christ is also a great book for learning to trust in God and anchoring your soul to him, but you must have access to the word of God and other true tools of faith in Christ to establish your foundation and confidence in Jesus.  I love considering just how invested God is in helping us.  It gives me great courage when I have been tempted to fear.  Here is a chapter on faith in the book Steps to Christ you can read on increasing your faith.
  1. Number Four (D):  Protection by the Creator:  “When the soul surrenders itself to Christ, a new power takes possession of the new heart. A change is wrought which man can never accomplish for himself. It is a supernatural work, bringing a supernatural element into human nature. The soul that is yielded to Christ becomes His own fortress, which He holds in a revolted world, and He intends that no authority shall be known in it but His own. A soul thus kept in possession by the heavenly agencies is impregnable to the assaults of Satan. But unless we do yield ourselves to the control of Christ, we shall be dominated by the wicked one. We must inevitably be under the control of the one or the other of the two great powers that are contending for the supremacy of the world. It is not necessary for us deliberately to choose the service of the kingdom of darkness in order to come under its dominion. We have only to neglect to ally ourselves with the kingdom of light. If we do not co-operate with the heavenly agencies, Satan will take possession of the heart, and will make it his abiding place. The only defense against evil is the indwelling of Christ in the heart through faith in His righteousness. Unless we become vitally connected with God, we can never resist the unhallowed effects of self-love, self-indulgence, and temptation to sin. We may leave off many bad habits, for the time we may part company with Satan; but without a vital connection with God, through the surrender of ourselves to Him moment by moment, we shall be overcome. Without a personal acquaintance with Christ, and a continual communion, we are at the mercy of the enemy, and shall do his bidding in the end.   from the book The Desire of Ages page 324
    1. 5.   Number Five:  Find True Believers:  It will be a great benefit for you to find a true believer in Christ.  They maybe a counselor or pastor ( but you don’t have to have someone with a title as pastor to help you.  God doesn’t value men by position or authority but He judges their heart and motive. (Jas_2:1  My brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with respect of persons.  Jas_2:9  But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors.).  Also there are professed Christian Churches that are deep into spiritualism and you will want to avoid those.  You need to seek the fellowship of true Christians they maybe just a ordinary person who has extraordinary trust in God but even if you find yourself all alone Jesus Christ will work for you with even greater power to deliver you from darkness.  If you find yourself all alone you are in a great position to enlist the agencies of Heaven in your behalf, and you can ask God to bring you someone to help.  When I was alone I used the two books above to increase my faith in God.  Patriarchs and Prophets is another great book that really helped me understand how the warfare between Christ and His Angels and Satan and His Angels first began.  As you seek a Christian friend to help you they must be someone without personal issues which fallen angels can use to benefit and exploit their plans and methods.  Deliverance that is complete is a process and often takes time but the harassment will lessen every day and freedom often occurs speedily.  Finding true believers (read this article).
    1. 6.  Number Six: Remove all occult items: from your home and destroy (Acts 19:19) every thing that had anything to do with the occult.  Make sure everything involved in spiritualism (every paper) is removed from your home, your car and surroundings.
    1. 7.  Number Seven:  Formally Announce Your Separation by putting everyone on notice:  If you belong to a secret society such as Free Masonry or others write them a letter explain your new commitment to Christ warrants your immediate removal from their organization and the reception of this letter as your official statement of immediate resignation from all forms and practices of this group and your uniting to Christ and His Church.
    1. 7 (A) Remove Every Tie:  Every tie with the occult and every friend that is in the occult must be removed from your life.  Do not go visit them again and take nothing from them.  Never accept a gift from someone that is in the occult.
    1. 7 (B). Problems Removing Occult Ties:  There are problem situations such as a young person living with parents who are in the occult and you may need to seek another place to live.  This is a time to pray and ask others to pray for you since you recognize that it would take a miracle to get you out of your situation.  When I became a Christian there was a point where I had to move and I had lost my job and was homeless.  I didn’t want to tell anyone but instead decide to get a hotel that night and I did.  I just prayed and in the morning I got a phone call, a young person my age heard about what was going on and he asked me to move in with him.  We became best of friends.  That was a blessing in the nick of time and God will work for you also.7 (c).  Problem situations such as living with a spiritualist is really on the edge because spiritual powers often contend with supernatural force for the person they are seeking to control, but Christ is a higher agency who enters into the battle with the Holy Spirit and the Heavenly Angels and has committed himself through the death of Calvary and his resurrection to give all that call upon His name in faith victory over satanic agencies.
      1.  Number Eight: You must commit your life completely to Christ without reserve. There must be nothing held back.  There must be no sin which you desire more than Jesus.  You may ask Him to make you to be willing to be willing to give up what is controlling you.  Even the desire to give up the sin and have a new desire is a gift from Christ.  The motivation, the will power, all are gifts from Jesus.  James_1:17  Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.
    1. “The only defense against evil is the indwelling of Christ in the heart through faith in His righteousness. Without a personal acquaintance with Christ, and a continual communion, we are at the mercy of the enemy, and shall do his bidding in the end.”  (The Desire of Ages).  Read the article on Committing your Life to God.
    1. 9.  Number Nine:  Allow God access to all your live and keep back nothing because the areas left un-surrendered are the Devils opportunity to occupy and control again. There were many in Christ’s day, as there are today, over whom the control of Satan for the time seemed broken; through the grace of God they were set free from the evil spirits that had held dominion over the soul. They rejoiced in the love of God; but, like the stony-ground hearers of the parable, they did not abide in His love. They did not surrender themselves to God daily, that Christ might dwell in the heart; and when the evil spirit returned, with “seven other spirits more wicked than himself,” they were wholly dominated by the power of evil.  “The last state of that man is worse than the first.“The soul that is yielded to Christ becomes His own fortress, which He holds in a revolted world, and He intends that no authority shall be known in it except His own. A soul thus kept in possession by the heavenly agencies is impregnable to the assaults of Satan.”  The Desire of Ages
  1. 10.  Number Ten:  Begin to recognize falsehood and truth and see the contrast between light and darkness:

“This illustrates the working of all false religions. They originate in man’s desire to exalt himself above God, but they result in degrading man [287] below the brute. Every religion that wars against the sovereignty of God defrauds man of the glory which was his at the creation, and which is to be restored to him in Christ. Every false religion teaches its adherents to be careless of human needs, sufferings, and rights. The gospel places a high value upon humanity as the purchase of the blood of Christ, and it teaches a tender regard for the wants and woes of man. The Lord says, “I will make a man more precious than fine gold; even a man than the golden wedge of Ophir.” Isaiah 13:12. When”
Ellen G. White, The Desire of Ages

    11. Number Eleven: Spiritualism, sorcery, necromancy, worship of angels, belief in life after death (except for the resurrection at the 2nd coming of Christ, and translation at His 2nd Coming) is sin and must be acknowledged by the individual who was involved in occult actions.  He must confess, and renounce this involvement in the occult as sin.  The confession must be a freewill choice of the individual or it will not give God the right to exercise His power in their behalf.  The person may not pray in a eloquent way, they may not even be understood by the listeners by but if it comes from a sincere heart crying for help from God it will be answered.  To remove any power of Satan there must be at time where complete confession is made and every evil thing brought into the light of God.   It is God’s purpose for the light to shine in the sinners heart.  1Co_4:5  Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God.

    12. Number Twelve:  There often appears to be a dullness of comprehension of spiritual things when working with someone who has been in the occult but this is surface and on the inside of the person God is working that their mind may be illuminated with truth.  It may seem that they cannot believe that they are forgiven by God and their sins are no longer a barrier between their soul and God interacting in their behalf.  So it must be that their conscious becomes clean and nothing is hindering them from believing in God’s forgiveness.  Connections with the occult and the activity with the powers of darkness are in themselves a type of contract with those powers.  This is the reason why inductees into secret societies and covens of witchcraft are made to preform certain acts which are contractual satanic agreements.  It is a union of the human with the fallen supernatural realm.  Therefore it must be completely renounced, rejected, and openly confessed and the agencies of heaven acknowledge this act and will come in to aid in the battle against evil for the person who was once held in their grasp.  The ownership of the person to Satan by these contracts of actions once renounced openly and publicly is in itself another contract with Christ.  (see the verses below that promise God’s forgiveness)

1Jn 1:9  If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Christ Our Advocate:

1Jn 2:1  My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:
1Jn 2:2  And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.
1Jn 2:3  And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
1Jn 2:4  He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
1Jn 2:5  But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.
1Jn 2:6  He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.
The New Commandment
1Jn 2:7  Brethren, I write no new commandment unto you, but an old commandment which ye had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word which ye have heard from the beginning.
1Jn 2:8  Again, a new commandment I write unto you, which thing is true in him and in you: because the darkness is past, and the true light now shineth.

13. Number Thirteen: What if the person can’t pray, sing spiritual songs, fold his hands in prayer, because he is under the control of demons or even becomes trance like when his opportunity to confess Christ occurs? It is at this time others should join in prayer for them and ask Jesus to remove the evil powers, never are we to talk to demons but we are to call on Jesus for help alone and he will answer our prayer.  We must understand the person is undergoing a change of ownership and that ownership occupies space just like a person owns an automobile so if you have a owner who was a wild driver and his car is being taken from him by someone stronger you can imagine he is going to try to take it on a last wild ride or even take it back.  It is here we must recognize that a loss for the individual isn’t occurring but a last attempt by someone desperate to regain control.  Faith in Christ will gain the victory.

14. Number Fourteen: Recognizing our need:  One of the first things necessary in order to have our prayers answered, is to feel our need of help from God. We may come to him just as we are, helpless, destitute, needy, and he will not send us empty away. The riches of the universe belong to God; his are all temporal and spiritual treasures. He can supply all our needs out of his abundant fullness. We receive our breath from him; every blessing in nature that we enjoy is an expression of his love. We are likewise dependent upon him for spiritual blessings, for grace and wisdom and strength to do the will of God. And he is more willing to give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him than parents are to give good gifts to their children.

Our great need is itself an argument, and pleads most eloquently in our behalf. But the Lord is to be sought unto to do for us those things that we desire. ..He is inviting, urging us to come to him and receive the very help we need…

We are sinful by nature, and so are commanded to be zealous and repent. If we regard iniquity in our hearts, the Lord will not hear us; but the prayer of the penitent, contrite soul is always accepted. When all known wrongs are righted, we may believe that God will answer our petitions. We must do what we can on our part; but our own merit will never commend us to the favor of God. It is the worthiness of Jesus that will save us, his blood that will cleanse us.

Scripture verses to read:  John 5:24; 6:47; 20:31; Galatians 1:4; Ephesians 1:7, 13-14; Colossians 1:14; 1 Peter 1:3-5, 18-19; Isaiah 53:4-7; 1 Peter 2:24; 1 John 1:7-9.

15.  Number Fifteen: A support team is important so that Christians of different gifts may encourage the person and counsel with them according as they to have struggled for freedom in Christ.  It is far better to have the team work of a group of believer than one person helping but even if there where none to help Christ alone is sufficient for the person who exercises faith in Him.  One reason why it is better for a church group of people to help who have been involved in the occult can experience a stronger attack by demons as they seek to be released than ever before because as stated early the war of ownership has begun.

16. Number Sixteen: Prayer:

When Jesus was upon earth, he taught his disciples how to pray. He directed them to present their daily needs before God, and to cast all their care upon him. And the assurance he gave them that their petitions should be heard, is assurance also to us.

Another element of prevailing prayer is faith. “He that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” Jesus said to his disciples, “All things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.” “What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.” Jesus said to the man who brought to him his son that was grievously afflicted with an evil spirit, “If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.”‘ Christ commands and encourages the prayer of faith; do we take him at his word? If we ask doubting and distrusting, that prayer is not of faith; and “whatsoever is not of faith is sin.”

“Ask, and ye shall receive.” The assurance is broad and unlimited, and He is faithful who has promised. We sometimes fail in faith because Infinite Wisdom does not come to our terms. When for any reason we do not receive the very things we ask for at the time we ask, we are still to believe that the Lord hears, and that he will give us those things that are best for us. His own glory is a sufficient reason for sometimes withholding what we ask for, and answering our prayers in a manner that we did not expect. But we are to cling to the promise; for the time of answering will come, and we shall receive the blessings we need most.

We need to examine our hearts as a preparation for coming before God in prayer, that we may know what manner of spirit we are of. If we do not forgive those who have trespassed against us, our prayers for forgiveness will not be heard. “Forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.” When as sinners we approach the mercy-seat, we cannot express the sentiment of this petition without forgiveness in our hearts for all who have done us an injury. Upon this petition Jesus makes a comment: “For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you; but if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.”

On another occasion Jesus enforced the duty of forgiveness still more earnestly. Peter asked, “How oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him?” In reply, Jesus related a parable of a certain king who forgave his servant a debt of ten thousand talents, but who revoked the pardon, and commanded this servant to be delivered to the tormentors, because in his dealings with his fellow-servants he did not carry out the same righteous principles that had been manifested in dealing with him. After he had received so great mercy, he would not, in his turn, forgive a small debt of a hundred pence, but, on the contrary, treated his debtor with great severity. Our Lord concludes in these impressive words: “So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses.”

“Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer.” We must cherish a kind, forbearing spirit. It is solemn mockery to engage in acts of religious worship with hearts full of envy, malice, and bitterness toward our fellow-men. The God who sees every action and understands every motive of the soul, a Being of infinite purity and exhaustless goodness, mercy, and truth, regards the prayers of such persons with abhorrence.

Persevering prayer has been made a condition of receiving. We must pray always if we would grow in faith and experience. We are to be instant in prayer,–“to continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving.” Peter exhorts believers to be “sober, and watch unto prayer.” Paul directs: “In everything, by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known unto God.” “But ye, beloved,” says Jude, “praying in the Holy Ghost, keep yourselves in the love of God.” Unceasing prayer is the unbroken union of the soul with God, so that life from God flows into our life, and from our life purity and holiness flow back to God.

There is necessity of diligence in prayer; let nothing hinder you. You will obtain the blessing you desire if you faint not. Keep your wants, your joys, your sorrows, your cares, and your fears before God. You cannot burden him; you cannot weary him. He who numbers the hairs of your head, who notices the fall of a sparrow, is not indifferent to the wants of his people. “The Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy.” He is affected by our sorrows, and even by our utterance of them. Take everything to him that perplexes the mind. Nothing is too great for him to bear; for he holds up worlds; he rules over all the affairs of the universe. Nothing is too small for him to notice that in any way disturbs our peace. There is no chapter in our experience too dark for him to read; there is no perplexity too sore for him to unravel. No calamity can befall the least of his people, no anxiety harass the soul, no joy cheer, no sincere, contrite prayer escape the lips, of which our heavenly Father is unobservant, or in which he takes no immediate interest. “He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.”

There is an individual work for each one to do. The relations between God and each soul are as distinct and full as though there were not another soul upon earth to share the watchful care of our heavenly Father, not another soul for whom he gave his beloved Son. “Thou understandest my thought afar off,” says the psalmist. “Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways. For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O Lord, thou knowest it altogether.” “Thou tellest my wanderings. Put thou my tears in thy bottle; are they not in thy book?” Here we have a representation of the unsearchable greatness of God, while we can but be impressed with his intimate knowledge of all our ways, and with the great tenderness expressed for the objects of his creation.

Jesus has given us his name, above every name. “Whatsoever ye shall ask in my name,” says Christ, “that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask anything in my name, I will do it. If ye love me, keep my commandments.” “I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain; that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.” “Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name; ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.” “At that day ye shall ask in my name; and I say not unto you that I will pray the Father for you; for the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God.” We have a string of precious pearls in the promises, if we will but comply with the conditions. But to pray in the name of Jesus is something more than a mere mention of that name at the beginning and ending of a prayer. It is to pray in the mind and Spirit of Jesus, while we work his works, believe his promises, and rely on his matchless grace.

God does not mean that any of us shall become hermits or monks, and retire from the world to devote ourselves to acts of worship. The life must be like Christ’s life,–between the mountain and the multitude. He who does nothing but pray will soon cease to pray, or his prayers will become a formal routine. When men take themselves out of social life, away from the sphere of Christian duty and cross-bearing; when they cease to work earnestly for the Master, who worked earnestly for them, they lose the subject matter of prayer, and have no incentive to devotion. Their prayers become personal and selfish. They cannot pray in regard to the wants of humanity or the upbuilding of Christ’s kingdom, pleading for strength wherewith to work.

Let us maintain the habit of close intercourse with God. Let us lay all parts of our lives open before him in gratitude for his long forbearance, penitence for sin, and earnest faith in the promises. The prayer of Jesus just before his crucifixion should be intensely interesting to us; let us read it, and enter into its spirit.

17.  Number Seventeen:The person must be consistent in prayer and in the time he spends alone with Christ and with fellow believers.  He must grow as a Christian believer as fast as possible that the power of Christ may work in his life to awake him to any deceptions that lie ahead.

“It would be well for us to spend a thoughtful hour each day in contemplation of the life of Christ. We should take it point by point, and let the imagination grasp each scene, especially the closing ones. As we thus dwell upon His great sacrifice for us, our confidence in Him will be more constant, our love will be quickened, and we shall be more deeply imbued with His spirit. If we would be saved at last, we must learn the lesson of penitence and humiliation at the foot of the cross.” The Desire of Ages

18. Number Eighteen:  He must recognize the high destiny and value of His Soul and worth in the eyes of God who has purchased Him back and redeemed him by His own blood and even though his life has been marred by Satan he may by the Creator become obedient to the Lord Jesus and keep all Ten Commandments written in the bible to honor God and love his neighbor as himself.

“In the cleansing of the temple, Jesus was announcing His mission as the Messiah, and entering upon His work. That temple, erected for the abode of the divine Presence, was designed to be an object lesson for Israel and for the world. From eternal ages it was God’s purpose that every created being, from the bright and holy seraph to man, should be a temple for the indwelling of the Creator. Because of sin, humanity ceased to be a temple for God. Darkened and defiled by evil, the heart of man no longer revealed the glory of the Divine One. But by the incarnation of the Son of God, the purpose of Heaven is fulfilled. God dwells in humanity, and through saving grace the heart of man becomes again His temple. God designed that the temple at Jerusalem should be a continual witness to the high destiny open to every soul. But the Jews had not understood the significance of the building they regarded with so much pride. They did not yield themselves as holy temples for the Divine Spirit. The courts of the temple at Jerusalem, filled with the tumult of unholy traffic, represented all too truly the temple of the heart, defiled by the presence of sensual passion and unholy thoughts. In cleansing the temple from the world’s buyers and sellers, Jesus announced His mission to cleanse the heart from the defilement of sin,—from the earthly desires, the selfish lusts, the evil habits, that corrupt the soul. “The Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to His temple, even the Messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, He shall come, saith the Lord of hosts. But who may abide the day of His coming? and who shall stand when He appeareth? for He is like a refiner’s fire, and like fullers’ soap: and He shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and He shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver.” Malachi 3:1-3.  The Desire of Ages

19. Number Nineteen:  If the person leaves the association of Christians and finds demonic activity again taking place in his life because he has returned to a place where spiritualism is practiced or a demonic atmosphere through wrong music, and other activity he must leave and not return.

20. Number Twenty: Union with Christ:  There must be a vital living connection with Christ maintained through worship, devotional time, study and prayer.  We must remain close to Jesus.

David Gates who is a missionary in South America recently gave his testimony of meeting a practicing witch on an airplane while traveling when they struck up a conversation.  They each shared with one another what they did for their occupation.  The witch who was a man said people came to him to get what they want and he could give it to them by placing curses on people.  He said, “They may come to me because they want another man’s wife and I get her for them.”

And David said, “You can’t place a curse on me.”  The man said, “I can, it works every time.”  David said, “Well not on me, I’m a Christian.”  The man said, “Oh, it works on Christians too, no problem.”
The man said, “Let me ask you a few questions…”

“Do you go to the movies or watch soap operas on TV?”

No.”

“Do you listen to music on the radio like rock music and country music?”

“No.”

“Do you have novels in your home?”

“No.”

and the man asked other questions that test to see if you have anything in your life that is under the ruler ship and authority of Satan.  After David answered no to all the man’s questions then he said..

“Well, then, you’re right; I can’t touch you.”
